Cleaning care and maintenance of cubicle hardware

Cleaning of laminate surfaces is best carried out using water and mild detergent. Nonabrasive liquids, creams or pastes are recommended as they will not alter the surface finish of the laminate.

Ink markings can be removed using methylated spirits on a clean cloth followed by use of a cream cleaner as mentioned above.

Prolonged contact with acid based toilet cleaners and lime-scale removers can cause permanent staining, any spillage or splashes must therefore be washed off immediately, particularly on the ironmongery components.

After cleaning using all the above methods, the surface should be washed thoroughly with clean water and polished dry with a soft cloth. Window cleaning agents are excellent for removing smears on the final finish.

Important

  1. Never use scouring pads or harsh abrasive cleaning agents as they will cause damage to the surface of the laminate and ironmongery and make it more susceptible to staining.
  2. Furniture polishes should not be used as they can result in the build-up of wax or silicone on the surface with eventual discolouration and smears.

For removal of other specific stains please contact our customer service department.

Indicator Bolts

Moving parts are best lubricated with a light machine oil such as 3 in 1 or similar.

Hinges

Silicon spray to be applied to the pin and nylon washers/cams. This will ensure parts do not bind when in operation.

Other components

Wipe over with cloth to remove dirt/film from surfaces or clean with mild non-abrasive household cleaners suck as Pledge.

Please note abrasive pastes, scouring pads, acidic solutions, etc., should not be applied to any hardware

Advice for use and maintenance of the stainless steel products

Tollgate has considerable experience in the production of a wide range of stainless steel products and is respected as one of the leaders in this important market sector.

Stainless steel is chosen as a building material as it links good mechanical strength with optimal resistance to corrosion and non-toxicity.

Stainless steel is recommended to meet the requirements of the most severe regulations in wide variety of products including those destined for contact with the foodstuffs (containers for cooking, milk treatment systems, etc).

Stainless steel products will retain their long life aesthetic and corrosion resistance by following a simple and regular maintenance procedure.

Cleaning and maintenance of surfaces in stainless steel

To preserve the surfaces of stainless steel products, especially those exposed to the atmosphere, it is recommended to regularly clean the surfaces by simply washing the product with soap and water or a neutral detergent.

It is important to first of all remove any dust from the surface, then rinse and wipe the product dry.

To avoid scratching the surface of products having a satin finish, it is important that they are cleaned in the same direction as that of the satin lines.

The use of steel wool should be avoided, as it will damage the product surface.

In line with recent technical specifications, the use of substances that could mark or cause corrosion of the steel should be absolutely avoided. See below:

  • • Hydrochloric acid (all the concentrations)
  • • Hydrofluoric acid (all the concentrations)
  • • Muriatic acid (commercial use)
  • • Bleach

In the event of a build-up of encrustations on the product surface, they should only be removed by the careful use of a wooden spatula. The use of a steel spatula could scratch or damage the product surface.
